Подробности наблюдения
I finally caught up with one of these that were reported during the CBC. One was seen in bittersweet vines in front of the large house with the turret-looking deck. I noted the large build for sparrow and the deep rufous rump. (It was facing away.) It flew into a tall juniper on the shore side of the trail and I watched its movements inside it, picking up different details, as well as a second FOSP. Yellowish lower bill, dark wedge-shaped reddish spots forming streaks on breast and flanks, grayish head with red markings. Crisp markings and overall reddish complexion. I waited for the birds to come into the open for some shots, got distracted by a RAZO fairly close to shore, and when I turned back saw the birds fly off and there were three together. At the end of this visit I was lucky to see one of them again near the Perkins Cove end of the trail, although distantly.
