Примечания
Weather: Clear, fair. Natural calls. A different bird ~ 1 km away. This bird was seen. It was foraging from a perch in the "middle level" of the trees and sallied out periodically to snatch prey from the foliage. Other birds were heard calling close by. One of these birds, not necessarily the one recorded, was collected and proved to be this species; it was adult to judge from skull but could not be sexed with complete certainty although it seemed very probably female; it showed no fat. General note - Except for Xiphorhynchus guttatus (after it began to rain), the calls of this species proved to be the most consistently conspicuous vocal element throughout (in) the whole area during this week I was here. The calls were not continuous but were often given during long sessions and usually two or three birds seemed to be calling back and forth. However, playback never brought any noticeable reaction. The birds were found usually to be at the middle level, but sometimes in the canopy. The only foraging behavior noticed was to sally out to pick prey from the foliage. An occasional, but rare, whistle like M. tuberculifer or M. venezuelensis was heard but I never determined what bird gave it. Response to playback: No response.
