Loud calling. Was seen in a tree pecking at a nest. No birds have been seen in or nearby the nest, so it is either abandoned or an insect nest. The construction of the nest somewhat resembles a small hornet nest. After pecking for a moment, the blue jay flew to another tree and continued calling.
