Подробности наблюдения
The Scaly Thrush (Zoothera dauma) is a medium-sized thrush with striking golden-buff plumage covered in bold black scalloped markings, giving it a distinctive "scaled" appearance. It is typically shy and secretive, foraging quietly on the forest floor for insects, earthworms, and other invertebrates. The species prefers dense, moist forests and wooded hillsides, often remaining hidden in undergrowth. During winter, individuals may descend to lower elevations and occasionally appear in village groves or semi-open wooded areas. Its song is a series of clear, flute-like notes, sometimes interspersed with harsher calls. Observations outside its usual hill forest range are considered uncommon, making this sighting notable.
