ruber or daggetti? May be a returning individual because I (and others) observed a similarly marked sapsucker in the park in January 2025. Discussion at the time suggested nominate ruber based on diminished white marking btw the shoulders compared to below the shoulders where they are large and well defined. Interesting/curious to me that the smallest white spots/flecks on black background on uppermost back between the shoulders have a definite red tinge.
