An adult female Brown Booby just offshore from the outermost buoy off Grays Harbor, sitting on a log with gulls was quite a shock! Seen at approx 2:30pm. Abundant photos taken. A uniformly brown booby with bright white underparts, and a white mask surrounding the bill. Legs and feet were lemon-yellow, feet were palmated. Long, conical beak is pinkish and bare skin in front of dark eye is bluish. Expected subspecies based on plumage, bare-parts color, and range.
