scared it up once by the creek, came back with camera, scared it up two more times but could not get a photo. All times it circled back to the creek below the beaver dam where there is sand and mud still open; third day seeing it; small bird, black beak and legs; white bottom; characteristics sandpiper flight; definitely not a woodcock or snipe; see photo for context
