Several count by 10s indicated ~400 at the dam, and we estimated another 100 or so downstream, but the inability to see all of the birds at once makes counting difficult. For about 1-2 weeks a year, 1000 BOGU are not uncommon at this location, which, for whatever reason, tends to have the highest concentrations of any of the six dams we visit on our dam tour.
