Appeared roughly the same size as nearby Forster's terns, with a full black cap and very long slender bill that appeared all black. Long tail streamers seen as it was preening and spreading its tail upwards. On the sandbar in Swan Cove on the opposite side of the road from the visitor center, with other terns. May have some distant photos to add.
