Подробности наблюдения
I initially thought I was hearing a Virginia rail, but then this pacific type wren showed up. It was making a different call from the typical pacific wren so I started recording it and taking some photos. It responded strongly to playback of winter wren. Its call notes were more rounded and less sharp than pacific wren. I will add audio. Its rapid "drum roll" calls were softer and more rapid than pacific wren. I did get photos of the bird and it didn't impress me as looking any different from a pacific wren, although did have a somewhat whitish throat. It was located in a little riparian area accessed best from Rd 23, drive on a very rocky access road toward the Columbia River, then along a small lake. The lake drains into the Columbia River and where the water leaves the lake there's a little riparian spot with a road leading right under the trees. Walk along the road under the trees and the road ends in a riverbed (which is currently dry). This riverbed is where I saw it.
