Photos. If we correctly deduced what happened, we think the first Traill's Flycatcher we saw -- with a distinct, thin eyering (which we suspected was perhaps most likely an Alder Flycatcher) -- never vocalized. While try to get this bird to talk, with both Willow and Alder Flycatcher playback (both songs and calls), as well as two songbird mobtapes, we eventually succeeded in getting a Willow Flycatcher to sing. At this time, however, we noticed that there was a second Traill's-type present, which we suspected was most likely the Willow. Thus, we're not convinced that we ever heard the first bird vocalizing and, despite seeing and photographing it well, we have to leave that one as a spuh.
