Подробности наблюдения
I An odd female / imm bird that I haven't been able to ID yet with complete satisfaction. Overall, green above and white below with apparent buffy or pale rufous on sides, although this could be an artifact of reflection from feeder. The tail was long, extending well beyond wingtips. Also there was an odd dark patch on the cheek which could be from the gorget growing in or perhaps some missing feathers. Distinctly smaller than nearby RU/ALHU, suggesting that this bird should be either a Costa's or Calliope and ruling out Anna's or BTHU. Wing structure apparently consistent with Calypte and apparently ruling out Calliope or Selasphorus. I saw this bird from inside, so no calls were heard. Also I didn't get tail or flight shots. However, the visible portion of the tail appears long, dark green with sharply pointed R1. Also the throat pattern is inconsistent with female Costa's (?). Rarer species (Mexican Selasphorus sp. or Lucifer, for example) ruled out by a variety of plumage and structural features.
