Подробности наблюдения
Tiny, neckless alcid with a stubby little bill. Mostly black above and white below, except for a white "collar" extending up the sides of the head behind the eyes and some white streaking on the wings. Its presence was most likely the result of a larger DRE (Dovekie-related event) or inland "wreck" precipitated by the sustained gale-force winds out of the south the day before. We saw it first (and rather distantly) from Martin's Point, but as it steadily made its way south we moved first to Riley Road and then to the boat launch at the pond's southern end. This was a terrific vantage point as it ended its journey at the water's southern edge, perhaps 10-12 meters away. It then headed west along the edge, ending up at the southwest corner of the pond (along that isthmus that separates the "main" pond from the Long Beach micro-pond).
