Подробности наблюдения
Before I spotted the Saltmarsh Sparrow I was hearing repeated chip calls which I thought sounded like NESP. Aside from the SALS, I had very obscured looks at a second Sharp-tailed which I believe was a Nelson’s based on what appeared to be blurrier streaks on an orange breast. But these brief views weren’t sufficient for me to be comfortable with the ID. No matter, I thought, I got good enough recordings of the chip call that an ID should be possible. Well now after listening to chip calls of both sharp-tailed species I have no idea how to tell them apart. I’ll upload the audio anyways in case someone can ID based on that alone. Of course it’s also possible that the bird chipping was the SALS I saw all along.
