NOTES: Neotropical Institute Cut # 1. LNS Bulk reel: 06 LNS NOTE: This recording was not digitized. mf a) This recording had not been identified by Terborgh and crew but it sounds very much like the song of C. casiquiare and therefore is very probably of C. bartletti which they told me was very common in the area and was occasionally caught in their nets (one taken for specimen). This appears to correspond to the Type 1 song of C. casiquaire and this is probably a female. Quality: 2-. Level: +3. 203 tape. LN. Rerecorded from Uher to N-4.2. John Fitzpatrick, of Terborgh's crew, told me this recording is not quite typical. I played for him, and the crew, recordings of C. cassiquiare and he indicated that was "just like the songs heard at Manu"; that it was "as if [he] were still there, hearing that song." He also mentioned they were heard at night. b) This is a long series of single notes and two birds give them. They seem homologous to the single calls heard from C. casiquiare that appear to correspond to Type 2 birds and thus are apparently by males. Quality: 3. Level: 0. (Near end is a loud phrase by C. undulatus; previously some are heard in background and another also follows the loud one.)This is a long series of single notes and two birds give them. They seem homologous to the sgl calls heard from C. casiquiare that app to corresp to Type 2 birds and these are app by males.
