I heard the distinct "Fitz bew" song just after parking my car. The bird initially sang from willows to the right and below the road at this GPS coordinate (34.830108,-90.099709) - this would be on the water side of the road. He flew to the power line and sang for a minute or two as I viewed him from my car. He stayed hidden from me and sang when I left the car. I backed away and stood about 30 yards from the bird, and he returned to the power lines. Every time I positioned my scope for photos, he dropped from the power line into the willows. I made several audio recordings. The bird was an olive-colored Empidonax with a distinct whitish throat. The tail was short and boxy or rectangular-like in shape. I could not see an eye ring. The vocals cinched the identification before I even saw the bird.
