Примечания
Semipalmated Sandpiper is first bird on the left. Far right bird is Spotted Sandpiper. Three Least Sandpipers in the middle. Difference in bill shape compared to Least Sandpipers is somewhat evident in this photo. Cropped, digiscoped photo.
Подробности наблюдения
Continuing. Hanging out with the Least Sandpiper flock. Slightly larger than the surrounding Least Sandpipers. Short, straight, black bill - on the shorter end of the SESA spectrum. Black legs. Plumage paler than the Least Sandpipers, but harder to see today than yesterday because the birds were somewhat backlit. Yesterday, I observed the bird with soft light in overcast conditions and it popped out among the Least Sandpipers because of its paler coloration. Harder to find today. When I first arrived, the Semipalmated Sandpiper was not present, but after about 25 minutes it came in with several more Least Sandpipers. About 15 minutes later it disappeared again and I packed it in. Including some bad photos I digiscoped.
