Подробности наблюдения
Continuing individual. Physical traits, sound and video recordings, behavior and dusty scrub location suggest GRFL. Empid, fairly long (narrow?) bill tipped in black with yellow lower mandible and black upper mandible. Tail long with light outer rectrices; these were quite striking when photographed in fresh molt in December, but are now worn. Audio & sonograms obtained resemble GRFL calls; song resembles GRFL (or LEFL.) After initial review of song and sonograms (was this a GRFL “Chuwip” or a LEFL“Chebec”?) Merlin identifies this song as GRFL. Video obtained shows downward-dipping. Repeatedly flycatching from lower branches to bare ground both sides of a dirt road. Habitat: mesquite, granjeno, persimmon and blackbrush, adjacent to short brush scrub and a scrubby pasture. First photographed in the same spot by my father on 12-29 (for the same individual in fresh plumage, see La Salle county “empidonax” photos from his eBird checklist on that day.)
