The Tufted Duck is the one in the middle - its white flanks, black back, and tuft are obvious.
Подробности наблюдения
A male diving duck associating with a large group of divers, dominated by Ring-necked Ducks and Lesser Scaup. The bird stood out due to its much brighter white flanks and dark black back (not grey or brown like the other divers). The bird had a blackish head with bright yellow eyes, a blue bill with a black tip, and a blackish tuft emanating from its nape and falling towards its back. The bird fed by diving. Seen well and at length from within 150 m using a spotting scope. Familiar with this species from seeing it many times over years. Photo attached.
