Подробности наблюдения
Large corvid, seen briefly soaring behind a TUVU naked eye, size discrepancy nowhere near as apparent as between crows and TUVU, so I pulled over quickly and got on the bird with binoculars, thinking it'd probably be a BLVU by the size. Extremely surprised to see a corvid instead, realizing it was likely a raven, I hopped out of the vehicle near the southern of the two 90° bends on the road's eastern end, and took photographs as it glided overhead, then turned towards the southwest. Tail feathers weren't fanned out fully, and the bird was not vocal despite several vocal AMCRO all around me at the time. Massive bill apparent in side views. I drove around the nearby roads (Princess Anne, Pub/Public Landing and Munden Point) trying to refind for probably an hour or more. There is a cell tower south of Back Bay Landing Road, and I "may" have had the bird briefly perched on this tower (distant views of a large-feeling corvid) that glided off from the perch and dropped behind the trees (viewing from Pub Landing intersection with Princess Anne). The Gold Book cites two historical records from Virginia Beach: 13 Nov 1931 and 2 Jun 1942, but none since.
