Подробности наблюдения
Single Swift in a mixed flock of dozens of tree swallows, rough-winged swallows and barn swallows actively feeding over large pond. Uniformly dark-looking above. Wings long and tapered, and dark underneath. Body overall greyish below except for white throat. Tail dark underneath, short-looking, tapered and squared off, stubby looking in flight, not forked or swallow-like. Somewhat larger than accompanying swallows, Appeared to be trailing something from one leg. Identified by three other birders, and well photographed by them as well. Originally it was thought this was a Vaux's Swift but it has now been confirmed as a Chimney Swift by eBird.org, and it is a first ever for Alberta. My enduring thanks to Calvin S for spotting and photographing this bird, and for ensuring I had a chance to see it and photograph it myself.
