Подробности наблюдения
Observed chasing a Western Gull as it flew to shore. Views were somewhat distant but behavior and flight pattern readily distinguished both as jaegers. Neither came in close enough to observe finer details like bill size and cap extent. The bird in the foreground in the photo appears to be a subadult - the dark breast band contrasted well against a white belly and sides but lacked a white or pale collar above it. The face was brownish and didn't contrast much against the crown thus giving an uncapped appearance. Both were probably Parasitic Jaegers as that species is more common in nearshore waters in winter but Pomarine cannot be ruled out.
