Подробности наблюдения
7th State Record, First for Washoe Co. Bird was originally found by Rob Lowry. Juvenile. Warm brown shorebird with heavy scalloping in on the back and orange legs. Larger than nearby Phalaropes and peeps, but noticeably smaller than Killdeer and SB Dowitchers. Orange legs and shorter, dark colored bill. Bird was very active, flying to various places on the mudflats. In flight, U-shaped white patch around rump and thin white lines on the top of each wing were noticeable and clear. If you're planning to chase, note that the bird moves around a lot, but generally prefers to stay by itself and actively chases other shorebirds away from it, flying away when they get too close. However, it never left the same 200 or 300 yard stretch of shoreline where it was originally found. Near the trailhead access parking area at the south then of the lake off of SR 447. Bird can be seen from the parking area with the use of a scope.
