Ok, let me first start off by saying - incredible spot by Corey Callaghan yesterday. This will be the first Florida record for the species. Brian Fedak and I went to the location this afternoon to attempt to relocate the bird. We found the bird hanging out with 6 Black-bellied Plovers. Many photos taken. Photos show a Golden Plover smaller than the nearby Black-bellied plovers "with a overall golden color especially on back, lots of yellow/golden color in face, prominent ear patch, long bill and long legs, and shorter primary feathers than AGPL. However, given this is a molting juvenile the primary feathers could be thrown off by molting feathers; hence I would focus on the other characteristics. Also, the supercilium is not as white as is usual for AGPL". Big thanks to all who helped clinch the ID, especially Corey who I have quoted above.
