Подробности наблюдения
Extraordinary winter record for Indiana. Originally found on February 21st by Jo Ellen Hammack and communicated to me via Donna Stanley. Very gray Empidonax with noticeable olive in the upper back feathers and a hint of olive on rump and possibly uppertail coverts. Complete, white eye ring and rounded head. Short primary projection and fairly short tail. White double wing bar and white leading edge to secondaries, especially pronounced in the tertials. Lower mandible orangish, upper mandible black. Underparts white with dusky breast flanks. Working low among shrubs and along the waterline. Typical flycatching behavior observed. Called sporadically, giving a soft, dry whit. Bird vocalizes multiple time in video recording. Overall coloration, short primary projection, complete eye ring, and dry whit call rules out other Eastern and Western Empids.
