Примечания
A male Pied Honeyeater – perched, calling and then flying away. The Pied Honeyeater (Certhionyx variegatus) is a bird of Australia’s semi-arid shrublands, and the plaintive piping call of the male, usually made while displaying in flight, is evocative of those habitats. Like many of the smaller honeyeater species, Pied Honeyeaters are shy, and very difficult to approach. I was fortunate that this male perched for a few seconds on dead twigs, calling briefly before flying off. Elevation: 275 m. Date added to IBC: September 10, 2019.
