Подробности наблюдения
First observation at 0911. An incredible number of flocks flying over, generally traveling to the south or SSE. Most vocalizing as they flew over. Frequency of flocks passing over seemed to be the greatest in the first hour or two of the survey. After 1300, only a few Tundra Swans passed over, in flocks more dominated by Trumpeters. We saw a number of mixed flocks. Earlier in the survey, these were generally dominated by Tundra Swans, with a few Trumpeter Swans leading the point of the flock. Counts of flocks in (approximately) chronological order: 25, 85, 35, 27, 27, 32, 31, 64, 63, 35, 15, 23, 53, 14, 23, 43, 22, 10, 75, 37, 9, 35, 22, 18, 51, 7, 100, 48, 50, 45, 22, 18, 5, 30, 28, 60, 23, 16, 85, 16, 39, 25, 15, 12, 46, 10, 5, 15, 13, 53, 4, 20, 2. Notes on mixed groups: At roughly 0939, saw a mixed group of swans with 4 TRUS in the lead followed by 22 TUSW (Janice got photos). Ca 0944, saw a flock with 7 TRUS leading 9 TUSW (Shane photos). At 1002, saw 2 TRUS leading 22 TUSW. At 1445, got photos of a group of 12 swans flying south over reach 4, with 2 TRUS leading 10 TUSW. Detections (number 15-minute intervals in which the species was detected): 16 flyover(s).
