Подробности наблюдения
I initially called this a Falcon sp. It was being attacked by a LBCU. Both were very far away. I took photos and on reviewing the photos at home, it was clear this Falcon had dark axillaries and underwing coverts. It also lacks the head markings of a PEFA and it sure isn't a Gyrfalcon. The photo included is a record shot. One includes the LBCU for size comparison. Unlike a PEFA, this falcon was being much more sedate about the encounter. The Curlew was relentless in it's pursuit. There is a known PRFA nesting site north of this area. I have had migrating PRFA in my yard in the fall.
