Подробности наблюдения
Adult male briefly seen at home feeder, but flew off and did not return and stay at the feeder long enough for a photo. Purple gorget flared back at lower ends unmistakable. Brief look with binoculars detected no red at all, and again the shape of the lower ends of the gorget were obviously longer than Anna's. Plus it was smaller than Anna's, had whitish pale breast below gorget (like a bib), and a striking whitish eye line back from eye. Later seen in front yard, at one point singing in top of a tree. Song was interesting and different from sounds of Anna's and Rufous that have been around. Short, high, and thin, kind of whistling, and noted mostly the descending part at the end. Slightly down-curved bill obvious when lit up in sun in tree. Crumby photos from iPod included here, but luckily others came to see it and confirm.
