Подробности наблюдения
We were with Titus Imboma during this observation. We noticed hundreds of bats emerging from the front overhang at the lodge. The overhang is the sheltered area where you park to go to reception at the lodge. Bats were roosting in between the roof tiles of that overhang and the wooden frame of the structure. The bats emerged in waves, one group would emerge, a few minutes would pass, and then another group would emerge. They emerged from several points on the overhang. We noticed a small raptor come in and try to capture and eat one of the bats in flight. It perched and then tried it again as another wave of bats emerged. The bird perched and we identified it as an immature little sparrowhawk. I don't know if this type of behavior has been documented for little sparrowhawks but Titus Imboma had never observed such behavior for this species before.
