Подробности наблюдения
I found a MacGillivray's/Mourning warbler at Ketchikan Creek; the bird was hanging out with juncos (followed with them along the creek); I initially identified it as a MacGillivray's based on the complete gray hood, mostly whitish chin and throat (with only touch of a yellowish or buff wash), and white eye arcs - the eye arcs weren't as thick as I'm used to seeing for this species but seemed better for MacGillivray's than Mourning Warbler. The photos were reviewed by Peter Pyle, who thought some of the features were better for Mourning Warbler (narrow eye arcs, pale gray hood, dark spots on the breast, short tail), but that it could potentially be a hybrid or not identifiable with certainty.
