NOTES: This bird began singing at 5:27:57, after which I missed only one song before getting onto the bird; unseen bird was initially 60-80 meters away, later 30 meters away, and probably 25 meters up in forest with very dense mid-levels; it did not give any long calls; this is the new bird (same as that in cut #2000-27-06), which began singing 60-80 meters from where it had been singing back towards the highway; not only was it some distance into relatively dense forest but it seemed to be moving around in tall terra firme forest on the north side of the road before the second dip; after the tape ended, the bird gave long calls at 5:49:09 and 5:54:32, the latter somewhat farther out the road and back toward where it sang from the previous day; mostly clear but some tree-level fog, calm, 79¡ F. ML: Subject changed from recordist's original identification of Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatoides to Xiphorhynchus guttatus guttatoides/dorbignyanus to conform to eBird Taxonomy (v. 1.55). -Jay McGowan/Matt Medler, July 2015. Other Behaviors: Advertise. Habitat: Rainforest, Evergreen Forest.
