Подробности наблюдения
At 11:35 AM, I observed & photographed the male just as I entered the camp. It flew up from the entrance road and flew to the west and landed in a low tree along the road. I then drove into the camp and at 11:40 AM, I saw & photographed a female foraging along the ground in campsite 1. She then flew into the thick trees between campsite 1 & 17. I observed her foraging along the ground, flying up into the trees several times at this location for another hour. She would often pick up something from the ground or have acorns in her bill. Howard King and Bill Moramarco arrived later and also viewed the female at & near campsite 1. Both birds were the approximate size of an American Robin. Both birds had orange breasts, throats, supercilium, and wingbars. The male had a wide black upper breast band & ear patch. The females breast band was not as pronounced, a dusty brown, and with a dusty brown ear patch. Both had white undertail coverts. The males upperparts, nape and crown were a bluish gray, while the females were more a brownish gray. Both had pinkish/orange legs. Both had dark eyes and bills. Photos of both taken and posted here. . .
