#5. New call after one of the defending pair was chased into the air by the swan and actually landed on the ground next to the lake, and the other goose swam over to it. Then they swam together near that bank, necks extended, beaks nearly touching, making what sounded like consoling sounds to each other. I don't know if they made any further attempts to reclaim their territory from the swan, because I had to leave. It is interesting that the bank where the geese ended up is near a swan nest that is in the process of being built. I don't know if that nest belongs to the swan that chased them in that direction or to other swans (that were not obvious from where I stood). It was also interesting that never in the entire episode did a second swan participate.
Detalhes da observação
I am going to try to add 5 audios that accompanied territorial disputes with a Mute Swan and then with two additional Canada Geese that flew onto the lake. The geese make at least four different calls in this sequence. To avoid losing any sounds, no highpass filter used for any of these recordings.
