Very rare for Texas but an increasingly common hybrid on the east coast and great lakes. Adult Larus with mantle slightly darker than nearby AHGUs, RBGUs, but not quite Vega-dark. Very light eye, funky proportioned and patterned bill. Mantle just ever so slightly darker than AHGUs, but somewhat hard to truly decipher due to lighting conditions, but pretty easy to pick out when standing among AHGUs/RBGUs. A new hybrid combo for me, but conferred with some east coast gullers who agreed with the identification, based on structure and mantle color. ~5 previous TX records.
