Detalhes da observação
A small dabbling duck with: a broken white eye ring that was divided by a dark eye line. Buffy brown with a reddish (cinnamon) breast and a large flat bill. Additional comments: The ducks in question were seen at the very beginning of the Shearness Pool. There is a tongue of quiet water at the very beginning of the pool. There were two birds and possibly a third. What drew my attention was: the eye ring had a definite top and bottom half that were not completely joined; they were separated by a faint brown line that ran from the back of the head past the front of the eye. The bill was very broad, flat and "steel" colored or bluish as best we could see in the amount of light we had. There were a few bumps at the end of the bill. The breast was a definite rusty color and there was some color in the cheek. An additional note is what appears to be a pale blue patch under the front of the wing. The overall color was buff and most of the feathers had a white border. The eye was dark.
