Solitary dark bird with mostly brown chest with splotches of cream/white. Compared to DCCO, bill shorter and tail longer. Bill yellow/gray with minimal yellow skin at base, not approaching eye--lores dark. Pale narrow band at base of bill ends in narrow "V" behind gape.
