Hoots from two females, apparently in a territorial dispute (?). One bird was much closer and recorded at a distance of about 20 meters. The other was 3-4x more distant. Obtained using Voice Record Pro.
Detalhes da observação
This started with two females hooting and counter hooting at a distance of about 70 yards. Then one (which was closer to me) flew a bit closer (into a different tree) to the other one and resumed hooting. The other one continued to hoot but then it also moved a bit closer into a different tree. Then the one closer to me flew toward the other one, which took flight, and chased off the other one (seen silhouetted against light pollution in the sky). The former bird disappeared to the north and I didn't hear it again, but the latter bird, which was originally more distant, landed on a pole, then flew off to the west, and then back to its original perch. It was hooting at each location. Roughly 10 minutes later a male started hooting near the female, which was still vocalizing. Roughly 10 minutes later they moved more distantly southwest and continued to hoot until I stopped listening. Audio recordings.
