Flushed, good views of all three as they flew and landed 15–30 m away. Significantly larger than Common. Broad, rounded wings, with wide white stripes, Also large white patches on outer tail corners (tails were flared). Flight different from Common's. White horizontal stripe on cheeks. See photo. Flat land with "ground cover" plants near water and sandbars.
