Detalhes da observação
[Kellen: A continuing bird, found here earlier in the day by Lynn McCulloch and Marika Ennis. We were able to see it almost immediately upon arrival, thanks to the several other birders who were already present. This was a fairly large flycatcher, perhaps comparable in size and structure to a yellow-bellied kingbird. It was generally brown above and pale whitish below, and very streaky throughout. The head had a bold, black-and-white pattern, consisting of a white supercilium that extended past the eye, a similar white bar extending from the base of the bill, and a dark loral area separating the two. The throat seemed to be dark, and the upperparts were sort of a messy (or maybe intricate?) mixture of dark brown feathers with varying amounts of white and light brown. The underparts were a pale whitish color, with a very, very subtle influence of yellow throughout. Contrasting, dark streaks ran from the throat down through the underparts, but they became significantly less defined approaching the flanks. The moderately sized bill was dark with a pink basal half, and the tail, the field mark I remember most, was entirely a bright, brownish-orange color. I did not hear it give any calls. This bird was in view for nearly the entirety of our visit. It frequently spent extended periods of time perched atop nearby trees and powerlines. We were able to approach it closely towards the end of our duration, and it did not appear to be bothered by our presence. Super cool!]
