Detalhes da observação
I was here for 40 minutes and saw only the female. General conclusion today is that her incubation period is clearly over. She was scarce--barely seen but frequently heard--roughly May 15 to June 20. If they have babies, then I would expect to be able to see them roughly around July 10-15. But that's an "if" at this point. Today… I first saw the female at 3:30. She was soaring extremely high above the field. She gradually worked her way back towards Lampson Ave, descending as she came. She looped around a bit, ultimately dropping into the golf course trees. She flew from tree to tree, landing in the eucs at the very end of the course and also further down the course to the west. She did one close flyby of the pine tree but didn’t land in it. She called a bit as she was flying around the course. I last saw her flying south over the neighborhood (towards the 405). I did not see her land in the nest tree or carrying food. But here’s hoping... Pictures of her soaring and audio of her call.
