Detalhes da observação
I was checking down the small drainage pathway where I had my fantastic Copperhead photoshoot a few days ago when a furious commotion from over by the dam had me glancing up just in time to see what I initially took, in the moment, to be a Goshawk being harried by an extremely angry Gull!! Then... in about one second, I truly realised what I was looking at; the bird was almost the same size as the hefty Gull, and as it acrobatically dodged and weaved it showed the brilliant white rump that clinched the ID for exactly what it was, only the fourth or fifth EVER Harrier for the property!!! It tried to cut a large loop around the dam to evade its aggressor, but the Gull wasn't letting up for anything, resulting in the two birds heading off out of sight through the trees... it really was a fantastic experience, and a dramatic sighting of one of the property's extreme rarities!!
