Detalhes da observação
Obvious escapee. Pictures and audio included. I did visually see it make the recorded call. There is a loud call at 0.8sec, 1.9sec, 3.0sec, 4.2sec, 5.8sec, 9.2sec. That was clearly coming from the Zebra finch, beak open and vocalizing. It has a fundamental pitch at 1.5k and a stack of overtones going up to roughly 15k. There are softer vocalizations before and after that call that also match the finch. These are scratchier and form a tighter series of overtones (the pitches are stacked more tightly together). That second sound is before and after the louder call, and it can be seen in the graph at 2.2sec, 3.3sec, 4.5sec, 6.1sec. The curious question is…. Would these vocalizations match birds in Australia? In this case it seems to be yes. Here is one example: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/351655721 That recording has the louder chirp (at :04) and a lot of the soft “scratchier” calls throughout.
