Started out with bad luck, was just about to give up when Jeff got on the bird near channel marker. Greater Scaup sized, Jet black topside, super clean white underside. Short fat neck compared to nearby loons and various ducks. Face behind eye and throat white. Large bulbous black bill with faint blue/white lines. White line in front of eye barely visible but present. White trailing edge to secondary feathers giving a diagonal line on folded wing. Diving often. Typical "football" shape in flight, tail longer than legs. Good scope views. Photos provided by Dan Pay (thanks)
