Traditional song of a male heard, as well as a caterwauling session between male and female. A nearby Eastern Screech-owl can also be heard trilling.
Detalhes da observação
Initially heard traditional song well to the SW in the direction of a wet bush/savannah area now bordering on construction lands. Soon heard a “whoo-ahhh” type call followed almost immediately by a short caterwauling session between two Barred Owls. About 5 minutes later heard one do a traditional song, this time from straight south where there is a cedar-covered knoll. The other responded with a “whoo-ahhh” from the SW once again. After 7-8 minutes had passed without hearing anything except the very nearby trilling Screech-owl, I did a poor mouth imitation of both a traditional song and a whoo-ahhh call. Within less than a minute, a response traditional song was once again heard from the south. Leaving the area, I heard a traditional song from the SW wet bush area once again.
