Detalhes da observação
I was first alerted to the bird doing its distinctive tink calls up the side of the hill. I thought that it sounded like LAGO and listened to the recording and it was a perfect match. Seemed to respond to playback. I jogged up the side of the hill, and saw a lone goldfinch feeding in the grass. It came out to a little quiet pishing. Dull brown above, with chartreuse like yellow faint into white on the wings. A little yellow on the tail. Was able to get a single distinctive photo and horrible audio. After that it flew down the hill and disappeared into the scotch broom. Reappeared and seen as it flew off over towards bald hill ridge. Was seen here: (37.9776410, -122.5833289) in sky ranch (which is part of bald hill). A great bird for Marin. My first for the county. Lucky I was able to get a photo of it. I obviously wasn’t going to stick around for long.
