A chough family descends upon their nest with lots of displaying while a wild Koala looks on. The displaying by the choughs went on for much longer than I can show in this short video - it consisted of tail wagging, flying from branch to branch and calling. I didn't see actual mating taking place, but it may have, and in the confusion I've missed it. Or this may be a pre-cursor to mating. I had spotted the female koala about 10 minutes earlier and there were no choughs on or near the nest at that time. The behaviour of the choughs did not seem to be directed at the koala or myself, but I can't be sure. I've seen this behaviour before. Afterwards 4 choughs settled on a lower branch and preened, while the rest of the family flew to the ground and foraged. Elevation: 247 m. Date added to IBC: June 23, 2016.
