Detalhes da observação
Very active today. A pair feeding their 3 chicks (more about that below). A number of adults constantly getting into a bit of a tussle with a pair of Yellow-throated Honeyeaters. --- The 3 chicks were rather bold - constantly calling. But the parents, wary of my presence, would go around and wait - deliver a few notes (soft "chip" 2-3 times) and the chicks would move to a denser, less visible spot.* Often only 1-2 would move and they'd get fed. Then the remaining chick(s) would move and the parents would come back after a while and feed the one that got left behind! I saw them feed the chicks about 8-10 times, and they made sure each of the juveniles are fed. Very cool. *I don't know how exactly the parents and the chicks communicated to figure out what this spot would be, but this was consistently the case - I could barely see through the foliage where the chicks were fed. Once all three were fed, the chicks would come out to more open perches.
