Notas sobre o média
Heard this call/song which I had never heard before. The bird returned to our riverside canoe camp for a second time the same early morning - ready with recorder. Presented to EBird as a Groove-billed Ani however data reviewer Steve Cardiff has indicated it may be a Blue Mockingbird. The cloud cover that morning was heavy and may have made the blue look black.
Detalhes da observação
Accepted by the TBRC. Black bird in the cane in behind our campsite. Larger than a blackbird, about size of a Great-tailed Grackle but shaped a little differently, Long tail - rounded. Floppy wings as it hopped around the cane. Got only one super brief look at head, and bill seemed skinnier than what I thought an Ani has but I assume I had a weird angled view. Initially reported as. Groove-billed Ani but EBird reviewer indicated it was not this species. Subsequently uploaded the audio to xeno-canto mystery bird and it was indicated to be a Blue Mockingbird.
