Detalhes da observação
I stood outside the east wall for three hours because the grounds were closed. On Gramercy street. Waited by the large atlas cedar. On several occasions I heard it call. First call was within forty minutes. The call was a soft brrrt brrrt repeated several times. It was very soft and I could barely hear it. It was probably just behind the wall. A half hour later the bird started calling more incessantly, this time a sharp high pitched weet weet uttered every second or so for several minutes. The bird would then call off and on. I could never see the bird as it was probably low and behind the wall. However, At one point I saw it fly into the atlas tree about fifteen feet high. I got a brief but good enough view to identify it but for the life of me I could never find it again even though I think the bird was still in the tree. I would recommend coming on a weekday when the grounds are open. I didn’t realize it was closed. All I have is the above recording.
